This comprehensive First Aid at Work (RQF) course, awarded by TQUK, is a nationally recognised qualification designed for individuals who are required to be a designated first aider in a higher-risk or larger workplace. Regulated by Ofqual, this qualification ensures that learners gain a deeper understanding and a broader range of practical skills to manage various injuries and illnesses effectively in a workplace setting. The RQF (Regulated Qualifications Framework) accreditation signifies the course's robust quality and adherence to rigorous national standards. Course Length: This is a 3-day course, typically with a minimum of 18 contact hours. Main Topics: 1. Roles and Responsibilities of a First Aider. 2. Assessing an Incident. 3. Managing an Unresponsive Casualty (Breathing Normally). 4. Managing an Unresponsive Casualty (Not Breathing Normally). 5. Recognising and Assisting a Choking Casualty. 6. Managing Wounds and Bleeding. 7. Managing a Casualty in Shock. 8. Burns and Scalds. 9. Fainting. 10. Anaphylaxis. 11. Fractures, Sprains, and Strains. 12. Head and Spinal Injuries. 13. Chest Injuries. 14. Eye Injuries. 15. Poisoning. 16. Major Illnesses. 17. Environmental Exposure. This TQUK Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) fully complies with the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 (and equivalent Northern Ireland regulations). As a regulated qualification, it provides employers with the assurance that the training meets the highest national standards set by Ofqual, eliminating the need for additional due diligence on the course provider. Upon successful completion, learners will receive a certificate valid for three years, enabling them to confidently fulfil the role of a fully qualified first aider in a wide range of workplace environments.
