This comprehensive one-day Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 course, endorsed by TQUK as a Vocational Training Qualification (VTQ), provides essential foundational first aid skills specifically tailored for workplace environments. Designed to equip individuals with the confidence and competence to act effectively in an emergency, this course focuses on life-saving techniques and initial incident management. Course Length: This is a 1-day course. Main Topics: 1. Understanding the Role of a First Aider: Responsibilities, reporting, and equipment. 2. Assessing an Incident: Conducting a safe, prompt, and effective scene survey. 3. Unresponsive Casualty: Managing an unconscious casualty, including recovery position. 4. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Defibrillation: Adult CPR techniques and the safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). 5. Choking: Recognising and treating an adult who is choking. 6. Wounds and Bleeding: Managing minor and severe bleeding, including shock. 7. Minor Injuries: Dealing with cuts, grazes, bruises, and small splinters. 8. Seizures: Recognising and assisting a casualty experiencing a seizure. This course complies with the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidance, providing attendees with the necessary certification to act as an emergency first aider in the workplace. Upon successful completion, learners will have the knowledge and practical skills required to provide immediate and appropriate first aid in a range of workplace emergency scenarios.
